The Awards, hosted by well-known celebrity, Vince Sorrenti were held Friday night, 19th June 2020, via live broadcast into attendees homes.
Together with principal partner Fast, Accountants Daily presented the winners of the Australian Accounting Awards in a first-ever live broadcast event.
The Australian Accounting Awards is regarded as the industry’s most prestigious accolades recognising excellence across the entire accounting industry, and showcases the individuals and firms which are leading the way in the industry. The awards pinpoint professional development and innovation.
Addressing viewers in his opening address, Accountants Daily editor Jotham Lian said it was more important than ever to recognise and celebrate the role of bookkeepers in the midst of COVID-19.
“I truly believe that accountants and bookkeepers have risen to the economic challenge like no other profession — standing as a critical link between the government’s stimulus measures and your clients,” Mr Lian said.
“The accounting profession has truly embodied the Australian spirit. So many of you have gone pro bono, spent hours fielding calls from your clients, spending nights and weekends poring over complex legislation, rules and guidance material, while juggling the pressures of running your own practice in uncertain times.
“It is because of this that is it now more important than ever to recognise your hard work and to celebrate your achievements.”
